I thought the late night wars had ended when Letterman moved to CBS and Leno got the Tonight Show, but evidently the battle is back on again. This time it seems like Conan is on the receiving end of it all.
Latest word has it that Conan's last day will be on January 26th, and Jay Leno will be returning to the Tonight Show.
Conan O'Brien has been offered 32.5 million dollars to step down from hosting the Tonight Show. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't turn my nose up at an offer like that. But you have to wonder how Conan really feels about it. The deal also states that if Conan is picked up by another network that he will only receive a portion of that 32.5 million.
For example, if he is offered a deal for 20 million dollars, they would only pay him the difference of 12.5 million. Still not a bad deal I guess...
